Engage-Impact-Transform

Youth Choir

The St. Viator Youth Choir is a liturgically-based choir that is open to youth entering grades 6th-12th. The choir’s mission is to serve the community at the 10:30 a.m. Mass every second Sunday of the month through their liturgical leadership using contemporary music. The goal of the Youth Choir is to engage and teach young people the language of music and artistic expression within the context of a Catholic Christian community of faith, which includes active and regular participation in church liturgies.

The choir rehearses on Sundays from 11:30 – 1:00 p.m. throughout the year. What is unique about the Youth Choir is its liturgical focus and live performance of voices, instruments, etc.

Youth Leadership

Picture
The Goal of this program is to:
  • Help youth develop an understanding of themselves and their culture.
  • Help youth explore and equip with the knowledge, skills and qualities needed for leadership
  • Encourage youths' appreciation for the culture of others and promote cross-cultural sensibility and leadership
  • Build youth leadership through meaningful engagement in the live and needs of their community.
To achieve the goal, they engage in activities such as:
Ushering, Ministry of the Eucharist, Lectors, Retreat leaders, instrumentalists and cantors.

Our Participation in the Archdiocese

Recently some of our youth leaders participated in the Vicariate IV Mass of Appreciation for the Altar Servers at St. Priscilla Parish presided by Bishop Manz. With their skills and talents, they proud Victorians, represented our parish by leading the Mass through music. Here some pictures and video from that day. Enjoy!
"Any human anywhere will blossom in a hundred unexpected talents and capacities simply by being given the opportunity to do so."

Summer Activities

Our youth came out and helped the seniors of our community through yard work and house cleaning. It was a transforming experience for them.

Every year high school students of our Youth Ministry Program attend the Victorian Youth Congress where they reflect their call, pray, sharpen their leadership skills and plan future activities. Some of them already in college become leaders for the event as well.
