Charismatic Group

This group meets every Thursday evening at 7PM in the church for singing and prayer. They also sponsor retreats for children, youth, women and men. Each Thanksgiving Day they also sponsor a turkey dinner for anyone that wants to come in the St. Viator Recreation Center. This group uses primarily Spanish for their prayer and meetings. Bereavement Ministry

The bereavement ministry at Saint Viator Parish organizes and assists families in the grieving process at the death of a loved one. They help with preparations for the wake and funeral, and provide families with resources for living through the grieving process. Respect Life Committee 

Respect Life promotes the care for all human life from conception to life’s natural end. The parish group works in collaboration with archdiocesan and national groups to promote respect for life. Each year St. Viator Parish participates in the baby bottle campaign, to raise funds to support a woman’s center that provides counseling and adoption services. The Legion Of Mary

The Legion of Mary group meets on Wednesday evenings in the chapel of the St. Joseph Center at 5:00PM. One of their regular activities is to take parish bulletins to 100 homes each week and inviting our neighbors to come to St. Viator Church. This group uses primarily Spanish for their prayer and meetings. The president for the St. Viator Legion of Mary group is Luz Arcos at 773 283-7405.

The Holy Name Society

The contact person for the Holy Name Society at St. Viator Parish is Ron Bryowsky.  You can leave a message for him at the parish office 773-286-4040. The Holy Name Society has a long history in St. Viator Parish and many parishes throughout the country. They continue to be a social club and are stalwart supporters of St. Viator.

Knights of Columbus

This Catholic men’s social organization provides a social outlet for men of our parish and a national organization that supports seminarians and projects sponsored by the broader church. REST Ministry

Ten teams share in the task of preparing a meal each week for the residents of the REST Men’s Shelter in Uptown. The parish has been supporting the shelter residents with this weekly meal for over 20 years. Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is a representative group of parishioners who share leadership responsibility with the Pastor in establishing the vision and direction for the parish. The Council meets monthly to identify the needs of the parish community, set goals, evaluate programs and projects, do long-range planning, and encourage the active participation of all parishioners in the life of the parish and in service to the wider community. Finance Council

The Finance Council advises the Pastor in temporal and financial matters related to the parish community. The Council approves the annual budget for the parish, reviews the quarterly reports, and recommends actions to increase revenue and to approve major expenditures. The Council also monitors the physical and material needs of the parish buildings and property and stewards the material resources of the parish. Representatives of the parish community make up the Council which meets quarterly or in special session as needed. The current Chair of the Council is Ms. Delorez Baez deebaez@att.blackberry.net

Hands to Help Ministries

Hands to Help Ministries is a local inter-faith organization that assists those on the brink of losing their homes and those experiencing homelessness on the Northwest side of Chicago.
It serves people within the 60641 and 60618 zip codes of the city. St. Viator Parish was a founding member of this organization.

Pastoral Migratoria

This parish ministry serves the needs of Hispanic immigrants and refugees with both spiritual and temporal needs. They provide educational resources, job assistance, language skills, citizenship preparation, health information, social networking and mentoring for individuals and families who are new to the area and to the parish.
